cnbc's David Faber reported around 1pm there was NO deal or talks whatsovever, between LCOS and CMGI, directly contradicting their 6:45am report that CMGI being in talks with Lycos and, however talks had been put on hold due to "personality conflicts" between Wetherell and Davis.

Each will have to do what is necessary for the benefit of his shareholders and put their egos in check. As for AV, the more I have read on this thread and the various financial websites the better I like it. Alta Vista is indeed a superior search engine, as I was reminded last night when I keyed in the name of a company on AV and got 40 hits with actually useful material vs. only seven on Lycos. I think starting with the superior search engine is preferable. You can build in any content you want from that point.
