JFD: if you ever are unhappy or unappreciative of this country, there is one sure-fire cure: travel, or live abroad. I've done both extensively. I lived for several years in various European countries, and I'm very interested in other countries/cultures. I don't mean to sound arrogant or jingoistic - but the US is #1. Sure we have problems, and big problems. Sure there is a lot that should be done to improve it. Sure there is a lot we can learn from other cultures. But I wouldn't exchange this country for any other. Only by comparing, can you understand what a truly generous, open, democratic, and vibrant country this is. Sorry for the patriotic outburst, but sometimes you have to say it like it is. Morgan
