Dough,
This move by AOL, to most likely give cheap PC's in exchange for long term subscribership contract, IS A HUGE MOVE BY AOL!
This will allow AOL to bring PCs and the internet to the masses, including the ones that thus far have not been able to afford $1,000 + PCs.
AOL will immensely increase their critical mass, now at over 17 million. Can you spell D-O-M-I-N-A-N-C-E?

Soon enough the street will comprehend AOL's recent actions and get excited about it too. The ISP landscape has changed a lot in the last 6 months. Locally, Flashnet Inc., is offering free refurbished PCs for long term subs contract. AOL is doing what it must in order to not only maintain their #1 position, but to increase it. I mean, can you imagine a national ad campaign giving these PC's away? It would just blow the competition out of the water.

Good luck all,

Tar
