"Chemical soup". a term Gaugs gave me, has become a sort of symbolic term for all the unknowns that motivate, cause, affect my reactions and behavior.< I humbly submit my opinion that all the scientific hairsplitting and verbal lawn darts does nothing to impinge upon the compact and evocative poetry of Gaugs' metaphor. At least not for me. If it "ruins" it for you - goodness I would never have gotten started.
