Clinton innocent? I suppose in a technical sense he is, its how you define innocent. Is he a complex character? Yes, and that always means there are facets I like and some I don't. Was he the best choice for President? Yes, He stands alone as the only Presidential choice I know that could bring a sucessfull end to the cold war, shake off the past millenium, and point us toward the next. Did it all work? No, but I surmise that were Bush president we would be having trade wars with Europe and the threat of real wars with China and domestic violence over abortion & gun rights. The budget would still be trillions of dollars out of balance, and the economy would have sank with the rest of the world. Innocent ? He was no babe in arms nor choir boy and our country is better because of it. TP
