I assume you meant 'prohibitive'. If 'overhead' refers to
cost of living to the workers, then attracting out-of-area
help will be tough, because of housing costs. But the
people being laid off have probably lived here for a
long time, benefitting from legacy housing costs that
can be quite low. I think Fujisawa isn't exactly cheap
either. But as a good ex-IBMer I hail all change as
the greatest - until the next change. :)
