Moyco News Update

(I'm not wildly impressed; still, they're not dead... yet. [10% growth in fiber optics??! What do they want, a parade?]-SL)

Cross Marketing Program for Endodontic Instruments; Successful Introduction of Polishing System for Fiber Optic Connectors; New Patented Endodontic Products Coming This Fall
MONTGOMERYVILLE, Pa., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Moyco Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOYC - news), a Montgomeryville, PA manufacturer of precision abrasives and professional dental supplies announces the following significant developments:

-- Moyco has authorized an established international manufacturer of endodontic materials to promote specific Moyco Union Broach brand
endodontic (root canal) instruments by way of advertisements and other
marketing literature. This manufacturer will recommend that Moyco
Union Broach products be used with its materials. This
cross-marketing campaign is scheduled to start in the fall of 1999 and
it is anticipated that Moyco will benefit from this marketing program.

-- Moyco has successfully completed introduction of its complete
consumable set for the polishing of state of the art MT-RJ fiber optic
connectors. This set of products includes polishing slurries and
films sold under the trade name Ultralap. Moyco expects a significant
contribution to its sales revenues during this fiscal year. According
to Chuck Picardi, Director of Technology for Moyco, "AMP and Siecor
have advised that companies such as Cisco and 3Com are demanding MT-RJ
connectors. The Ultralap polishing set is already being used on these
new popular precision connectors with excellent results. MT-RJ
connectors have demonstrated outstanding performance and competitive
pricing for fiber to the desk applications." Mark Sternberg,
Administrative Vice President for Moyco, stated, "We have been an
important supplier to the fiber optic connector polishing market and
have patiently waited for this technology to launch." Sales of
slurries and films used for this application increased significantly
during the quarter ended June 30, 1999. Moyco expects that sales will
continue at a conservative annualized rate in line with the recent
quarter ended 6/30/99. In that event, sales of these polishing
systems for the MT-RJ fiber optic connectors should increase revenues
of the abrasives business segment by approximately 10%.

-- Moyco, through authorized dental dealers, will be introducing various complimentary endodontic (root canal) products this fall. Moyco nickel titanium rotary instruments known as Pow-R(TM) files and Rapid Body Shapers are continuing to drive sales in the dental division.
The newly developed complimentary products will enable Moyco and its
dealers to provide complete nickel titanium rotary instrument system
plus ancillary materials to dental professionals at competitive
pricing. The new instruments will be manufactured via Moyco's
patented manufacturing process. Industry opinion leaders and
educational institutions are teaching techniques that require the use
of nickel titanium rotary instruments as being more time efficient and
effective than traditional methods of root canal therapy. Sales of
nickel titanium endodontic instruments manufactured by Moyco for the
year ended June 30, 1999 increased approximately 50% as compared to
the same period in the prior year.
