How would you know you were happy if you weren't "you"?

The notion of personal happiness would not fit into my concept of the afterlife (although understanding of the notion would).

No, feeding ice cream to a dog is far more satisfying than eating it yourself. Helping someone else have an orgasm can be far more fulfilling than having one yourself.
