Frank, there are threads on value stocks...
techstocks.com

Nothing on oversold stocks, in general.

To start a thread...

To start a new discussion forum, log into Silicon Investor, find the category that best fits your topic (Misc, Software, Communications, Biotechnology, etc.), scroll to the bottom of the page and choose the "create a subject" link. Note that if you choose the "Misc." category, you must also choose a subcategory (Five Dollars and Under, Initial Public Offerings, etc.)

Frank,

Before you run off and start a new thread might I suggest that your topic is a valid one for the Art of Investing. While this thread wasn't focused at particular stocks but rather strategies, a short strategy is just as valid as a long one and there have been specific instances of particular stocks that have been discussed.

The major reason why I suggest trying the topic on the thread is that I believe that you are more likely to get a balanced view on a thread that deals with long and short strategy than you might get with one directed strictly at overvalued stocks. My observation has been on threads that deal with short candidates the culture develops that every piece of news is interpreted as supporting the short view.

It might be far more interesting to post a candidate on this thread and get the talents available to analyze to position from various viewpoints. It would be an exercise in "applied" Art of Investing. :0)

Best Regards,
Jim

I agree with Jim (#736). You might start here, and create a new thread only if and when the idea gets momentum. In that way, you would start the new thread with a base that could make it grow. Most new threads die because there is not enough response during the time that it is on the New Subject screen.
