Bill,

<< Nexabit NX64000 is great piece of hardware... 17 patents. Nexabit/LU/ASND will combine their talents and work the software issue. >>

This is what I differ with you is that a great piece of hardware does
not make it a router. OC-192 interface does not mean much if you
don't have a piece of software perform routing protocol, ISIS, BGP4,
and etc, behind it. And this piece of software is extremely hard to
do. This is the area I see ASND, LU, Avici, Nextbit, and along with
a bunch of the startups that the press was so excited about are failed
to deliver. The router is like a computer. A nice piece of software
OS makes the computer working for you.

I just look at LU in the recent history. LU has not deliver its own
ATM switches and routers. I believe LU has spent a great deal effort
developing ATM core switches but they turned around bought ASND
instead. They has developed Parkstar router line and has not
delivered it neither and turned around bought Nextbit. What does LU
has short of ? Can they afford to wait a couple years?
