Hi Jack, If I take a look at my portfolio, I'd have to say that my investments tend to be very long term - in the neighborhood of 8-10 years. But I can't say I planned it that way!

In general I try to guess about the next 3-5 years. Most of the time I'll stick with a stock a minimum of three year. If the long term potential is still intact, then the time frame is extended by the same amount. Dave reminded me that I haven't updated my AIM History page in a very long time. I really should do that again. There I posted the starting date and gains/losses. Maybe this week I can look at that again.

I was too dumb and arrogant to buy AOL back in '94. I wonder what I'm too dumb and arrogant to buy now??? :-)
