FYI, there is a book written about Dole entitled Senator For Sale. Subject is the legislative favors Dole has performed over the years for his political contributors. Have a suspicion a similar book could be written about any long-term politico. Seems like political contributions, if they are big enough, are the best investments around. On the subject of GWB, I know he's profited from his name and his father's position, but I don't know of any really big favors he's personally done for his backers yet. I think there are charges a Richard Rainwater company may have gotten a bargain on the purchase of some property from the state. Don't know if there's anything to this.
