As I noted last Aug, IR said end of '98 beginning of '99. That was their guess at the time, but since they hadn't yet decided if oral or topical Targretin would be filed first, it was clear that it was a pretty optimistic estimate. A few weeks later BBRS came out with a Biotech update on stocks that they covered (including LGND) and they mentioned the PANRETIN approval date for 4Q '98, but not ANY Targretin filing (and they covered 4Q '98 and 1Q '99). You thought that you had read some official LGND document indicating that oral Targretin was going to be filed in 4Q '98 and that their 2Q '99 filing was late. The only formal (in writing) prediction that I saw for oral Targretin was 2Q, '99, which of course was right on the money. I think that the official document that you referenced was a figment of your imagination, since LGND IR didn't know which filing would come first, even as late as Aug 1998.
