One of the most bizarre things I have seen . Especially the part where they use kidnapping to help further their war effort. They make it sound like shorting EBAY .

Regarding negative sentiment: Is QWST a buy?

As Joe Nacchio continues to pursue Frontier and US West, the stock seems trapped in the low 30's. I suspect Nacchio is willing to pursue proxy fights with their respective shareholders in his attempt to block the proposed mergers with Global Crossing. The inevitable negative sentiment this will generate toward QWST (regardless of whatever strategic sense swallowing Frontier and US West makes) may push the stock lower. QWST is already 30% off its recent high and, I believe, may be a no-lose buying opportunity.

If Nacchio somehow succeeds in getting Frontier and US West, he may just have the vision to create a telecom powerhouse, similar to how MCI Worldcom was created; remember the overwhelming negative sentiment when that merger was announced? If he fails, the basic QWST story remains intact (18,000 miles of fiberoptic channels across the US) and may make an interesting takeover target. At any rate, the stock should reapproach its mid-40's price prior to this takeover attempt.

Is there something I'm missing here? Both negative and positive comments appreciated.

P.S. If QWST hits or dips below 30, I will be an aggressive buyer.
