DSL offers a nice package in that it provides a huge pipe and the ability to piggy back the voice line. But see, being the cheapskate that I am, I couldn't justify paying an additional $40 for the big pipe. I just couldn't because I don't use it at home that much. I guess my whole issue is centered around this: big pipes are available, everybody wants them, all the visionaries swear by them, but where is the growth. I mean real gut busting growth in the amount of people switching?

For example, when USRobotics and Rockwell announced that 56K modems were in the works, just about everyone started salivating. When they did arrive, the things couldn't be stocked they flew so fast off the shelves. Everybody knew someone close who had one or was getting one. Slower modems were being dumped faster than you can say Koombaya. I just don't don't see that type of grass-roots massive rush to switch over to the fat pipes. Why?
