World Heart Corporation to Hold Telephone Conference Call Following
Announcement of Second Quarter Results for the Six Month Period Ended
June 30, 1999

OTTAWA, CANADA, July 14 /CNW/ - World Heart Corporation will hold a
telephone conference call for shareholders and interested members of the
financial community following the release of second quarter results for the
six month period ended June 30, 1999. The call will take place on Thursday,
July 22, 1999 and will be hosted by Roderick M. Bryden, Chairman and CEO, who
will be accompanied by Dr. Tofy Mussivand, President and COO and Mr. Ian W.
Malone, Chief Financial Officer.
