We are not all short sellers here and I like to see an active dialogue from "noise traders" to help me rethink why I am long.

Rmiethe: If you dont like it -- take a hike. Your constant whining is getting tiresome. The world is not perfect, SI is not perfect. Get over it.

P.S. Thought about deleting this post and/or making it a little less caustic, but I like to stir things up now and again. That is part of the fun. It is all suppose to be fun right?

I can assure you I'm not a short seller. In fact, I recently recommended GSTRF to some of my clients. My comments were based simply on the fact that RARELY to company officials comment on future earnings, unless the estimates provided by market analysts seem way off base, up or down. Schwartz may well have made these comments, but it's unusual, to say the least.

Hi RMiethe,

As a neutral observer (no position in GSTRF and burned on IRID) I rather think that Mr. Bechhoefer's observations about the statments of Mr. Schwarz and the requirement of the SEC are very salient to the discussion here. I detect a bit of unalloyed boosterism on this thread and in regards to the Loral family of companies in general. A bit of skepticism may well have helped me avoid my losses in the IRID flame-out.

While I agree with you that it was known throughout the day by company advisos issued during the start of the conference that corporate comments at the DLJ conference were "forward-looking", covered by the SEC safe harbor provision..., I must object to your conclusion. You said, Great for potential shareholders of Globalstar to read., meant obviously as sarcasm and disdain for Mr. Bechhoefer. Well, sad to say, this rant adds no more light to the discussion than the posts of those you chastise.

For those who are still here, you will recall that I have posted a few skeptical items in the past. I must say, I really like this LEO technology, it is neat. I hope it is a market success as well as a technological feat. But I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out who the market is for this system.

Best, Ry

SI has all sorts of threads . Some are quiet and non contentious, a place where people go to learn from each other. Some seem to consist mostly of people trying to show off and demonstrate that they are smarter than the rest. Then you have the shorts, who are usually losing borrowed money and are so desperate that they think a little mindless talk will force a stocK down. The quite, polite, cooperative ones are getting rich but not most of the others. The really good SI threads are a very valuable resource for informed investors.
What SI really needs is a little button that just shuts somebody off your part of the thread. If over 50 % vote to eject the bad apple , he can't post to the entire thread again. If this happened 3 times he would be ejected from all of SI.
