I don't know about the Sony 20th Anniversary presentation, but Sony's too big in the music and handheld portable business to ignore this niche. They may be waiting to see what standard(s) are being adopted, but they won't stay out of the market long.

I've also go to believe if they don't want to use other memory systems, they'll push the capacity of their stick memory to be competitive or surpass other available flash memory, possibly by designing devices that support more then one memory stick.

From what I gather of MicroOS, we should be able to handle whatever configuration they wish to design.

Sony hasn't always been the first on the market, when they come on the market they just seem to do a better job then the other guys. I had the original Superscope Tape Decks, probably 40 years ago, certainly not the first stereo tape recorder, but it put Sony on the map, and they've continued to do it ever since.
