Ticker, there's no obligation on the part of individuals traders to act on those "messages of sell interest". With the co-operation of the MM's I don't see why they couldn't be used to scare smaller investors into giving up their stock so that it could be purchased more cheaply either to initiate a long position or cover shorts.

I'd appreciate a comment on that idea from someone who's more familiar with their machinations. Thanks
