Perhaps a more interesting question is why on earth the stock dropped to $13 on no news in the first place. On the one hand, an appropriate response is to say "Thank you" and gobble up some more shares (as I did to a modest extent); on the other it certainly isn't good for the nerves.

That the Optrin news was good wasn't really a surprise given that Alcon recently exercised their option to continue development.
