DenverTechie, I wonder whether your estimates of 40-60% are based on loops in their current state or loops after they have been conditioned? My understanding was that 80-90% of loops can carry xDSL either now or after being conditioned (i.e. after having the load coil and excess bridge taps removed), and that almost all business lines are xDSL capable. Although it is a fair point that xDSL has some hurdles, but right now this industry is constrained not by these technical problems but rather by the fact that they can't deliver these things fast enough to the customers who want them. IMO, it will be at least a couple of years before the DSL industry starts running out of "easy" deployments and has to start considering how to deploy DSL to tougher locations.
