My primary object in that section was to address those who deplore abortion, but take refuge in the idea that abortions are almost exclusively used to address life crises. Sex selection is certainly a trivial reason to abort (and to favor males is perverse), and if abortion breeds carelessness, it also seems to indicate a trivializing process. (By the way, please forgive the earlier typos, I was rushing in order to do an errand. No one is perfect, but I try to post cleaner copy than that:-)....)
