Free- trade is one of the few things that most economists agree on. It benefits consumers and investors in the more affluent countries, and provides needed capital and employment in impoverished countries. It provides a stimulus for the development of the host countries, and has ripples throughout the local economy. As Deng said, who cares if the cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice?...
