DocStone, The potential for this market is huge. One of the problems that businesses face, esp.those that are small to medium size,is the cost of upgrading, updating and maintaining software. ASP, or software rental, offers great utility to these companies 2 ways. Firstly, it distributes the cost over a greater time period and allows greater flexibility in adding/deleting specific applications as the need arises. Secondly, the personnel required to maintain a companies application, software can largely be shifted to the ASP thereby saving $ spent on these high priced employees. Previously, the limited bandwidth available did not make this a practical option. As broadband becomes more available the flow of information between client and ASP becomes faster and smoother. Those of us who are long DRIV also see how broadband changes everything for this company. I may be wrong, but I think that in recent company statements, DRIV has hinted at opportunities in area of software service, not just downloads. Although there are other companies in this area, DRIV could conceivably make a smooth transition to offering this type of service as well. Just speculation, but it seems reasonable. I think this area has great potential and have parked a little cash in a company providing this service, FutureLink, (FLNKD)no hype...just mentioning possible competitors. With all these types of companies I'm a big believer in hedging my bets. I don't know who will win, but I'd like to be part of it. DRIV has a very strong future ahead of it, hopefully encompassing this new ASP concept as well. HeatherN
