Once you are over 30, I think where you went to school is about 95% irrelevant. Funny thing is I have had a number of people dig me about Brown over the years, presumably because it is supposed to carry some sort of Ivy League social distinction.

Well, I never had any social status and never wanted any either. Brown was a good school which I would still recommend to anyone. But I have learned a lot more out in the "real world" than I did on campus.

It's a safe bet that my correspondent spent more time at the local 7-11 than he did at a military academy. I have known several fine officers who graduated from West Point and Annapolis. Too bad yo-yo's like this try to steal the name when they lack the class that a real officer and gentleman gets out of that experience.
