ed, remember muei money is nearly a billion and mu can't touch it. they have about 2 years worth of cash at current run rates. that isn't a long life span and i would be hoarding money too.

Ed, I think MU is conserving cash because they know they have $1 billion to spend on the TXN fabs during a period of very negative free cash flow that is becoming more negative. I don't know how much of the billion on the TXN fabs is spent, but they also have to upgrade their own fabs to .18 um and then .15 before Samsung gets to .12, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of survival.
