Millemium Wireless Modem The WaveRider Millennium Series Wireless Modem (MWM) WaveRider recognizes that not all customers are the same. As a result, we have developed a comprehensive wireless modem portfolio designed to meet the varying needs of a wide range of customers. Cost-effective and integrated our Millennium series of wireless modems meets the needs of the small to medium to large sized customer, providing for customer selectable network connection speeds. We also know that customers are not static - that over time, a user's communications requirements can change and grow. Our answer to this growth is the development of capabilities that will allow you to increase the MWM connectivity speed as your customer grows - without the need for costly hardware upgrades. WaveRider's flash downloadable software management program enables software upgrades to be delivered without replacing equipment, allowing your customers to enjoy future capacity, system and feature release additions and upgrades without any interruptions in service. The WaveRider Millennium Series of wireless modems employ a sleek, attractive and futuristic design. The Millennium Wireless Modem (MWM) is a state-of-the-art device that provides high-speed continuous Internet access to the customer. The modem would be acquired by a WISP's customer and installed on their personal computer or business computer network. Always on, the wireless modem's speed is determined by the WISP, based on the data rate the end user has selected. The WaveRider MWM supports multiple user data rates with actual throughput ranging from 64kbps to 7Mbps. Modems with user data speeds in the 64kbps to 1 Mbps will operate in the 900MHz-frequency range, while those wireless modems designed to provide user speeds up to 7Mbps would operate in the 2.4GHz range. This ability to individually configure wireless modem communication speeds provides the WISP with the opportunity to address both the business and consumer markets allowing for access fees to be customized based on various Quality of Service factors, including service type and access speed. The LMS series wireless modem is attached directly to a personal computer or LAN via a serial, USB, or Ethernet port and communicates wirelessly back to a small base station called a Communication Access Point or CAP.
