goldsnow,

Its rather funny. The NATO politicians actually think
they can build democracy in Kosovo. They seem to assume
that freedom and democracy occur naturally and that these
wars that occur over ethnic identity are some kind of
abberation. There are over 40 civil wars occuring right
now that are based upon historic ethnic ties and historical
events. At best, they will get a Northern Ireland peace,
or an Angolan cease fire. The fact is, thuggery and violence
has been the way of life for these people in the Balkans.
Just cause Bill Clinton thinks its time to end it doesn't
mean that it will. Its just going to be a waste of money,
time and effort. Maby I sound like some kind of facist pig
for saying that but I read this months issue of "Foreign
Affairs" and the lead article said the same thing. I pity
the poor guys who joined the military only to find themselves
being "rent-a-cops" for less than minimum wage. If Clinton
had any moral fiber in his body at least he would give the
military a pay raise that they deserve.
