Consolidation frenzy may be hitting the cable access pipes right now, but the interactive content providers and software companies that develop products to carry the content over those broadband lines may feel it next, according to the chief executive of a major interactive TV software company. "You can almost smell the blood in the water," he said this month at the National Cable Television Association's annual convention in Chicago. One takeover prospect: ACTV, the interactive TV technology company that is trying to foster "individualized TV" on the living room screen. Rumors on the street are that Liberty Media is gunning for the company. ACTV shares are at $11 each, about half their level in April. A good buy?"
