I tried to get it through phone calls and the web. Finally when I least expected it I got a call from @home. Took three days after the call and I've had zero problems with the service. I think its one of those things where you will know when they get to your area ie. phone calls and letters in the mail. Until then its just wait. It will be worth the wait. I regularly obtain speeds of about 500 kbps.

Rick- I would hope that they (the cable partners and @Home) are going under the "squeaky wheel theory". They have a limited amount of money and are short trained staff, it makes sense that they are going to upgrade the areas where the demand is the highest, they get a faster return on their investment. Call them and tell them you are interested, make them put your name in their computer.
They promised to have the upgrades in my area in the third quarter this year....guess what, third quarter starts tomorrow! I've called them so many times now that when I call I just say "Hi, its me again " . If you have friends and neighbors that are interested, get them to call.

I called their Palo Alto office a few months ago and gave them my zip code to see when they would be in my area. I ended getting in for free on a beta test for the first month. It's incredible, I hate to come to work now, because we still have a dial-up isp. I can see how AOL is taking a big hit in each area that ATHM moves into.
