<< There is LITTLE hope >>

Uhhh...what's the big deal here?

AMD is on the ropes, but not because of Cyrix CPUs.

Regarding the low-end CPU business, AMD can't make it selling low end, Cyrix couldn't make it, NSemi couldn't make it...Zilog, Motorola, etcetera, etcetera, ad infinitem. Even Intel feeds off the high end stuff.

Why will VIA be any more VIABLE? They will soon be toast.

regards, Dan

Yougang - Re: "Paul, where are your buddies at Intel these days? Kill or be tortureed! "

My guess is that my buddies at Intel are working on a 0.18 micron Celeron that will cut the costs in half - and will allow Intel to cut Celeron prices EVEN FURTHER to make sure that AMD AND VIA/NSM continue to lose VASTS amount of money while Intel continues to make excellent PROFITS.

Intel is, of course, working on other chips - and Cascades is picking up "steam".
