I think both of you guys are getting off easily - I don't think anyone else has a chance of beating either SEG or IBM to 15K. I think you ought to consider donating an hour to charity if a HDD manufacturer goes belly up before either company rolls out a 15k drive...

I hope Stitch is right - he usually is though. It looks like SEG is well positioned. Its just the fact that none of these company executives seem to learn anything from the previous HDD wars.

That really shoots the theory of racial memory in the head doesn't it. Either that or the fact that becoming a high level corporate executive is NOT a sign of intelligence.

Did anyone else catch the fact that Circuit City and Best Buy are going to start promotions with emachines for a $400 rebate on a computer purchase. Since SEG has the U-4 that seems like it will 1) intensify the price war; 2) build up SEG's volume.

What that does to long term profitability will be interesting.

Yogi;

<<More U4s but will that translate to the bottom line for Seagate?>>

Nope. It will to the U-8 however. Stay tuned guys cause this one is getting very interesting.
