I thought AVP was a good short back then based on deteriorating fundamentals, and it turned out to be a good trade. I wouldn't short it again right now...even though the price has recovered since then (and then some). The perception is that Avon's business is improving and margins are going to get much healthier due to much more efficient ordering and distribution, the internet, etc. So the only reason to short this one would be overvaluation. With Avon's business back on track after a minor derailment, why bother shorting it - especially in this tape.
