Lee,

I do the same. I did it with COVD... sold half..let it run... sold again once it started turning... it went another 1.5 points higher and dropped back but no regrets here, esp since it closed lower than my sell. I may pick it up again in AM, but I don't know that... I work with the real time technicals and momentums (stock and sector).

The tape never lies! And from the article Adelle found... "You can't lose money taking profits" however meager it may seem... chasing to maximize is a dreamer's approach, not a trader's... although we get lucky once in a while. If I'm ambivalent about selling a stock I own... I play a game to make it interesting... I place a day sell order for something way beyond comprehension... like 5 over the ask with 10 minutes to go or my own price target however lofty it may seem. Believe it or not I've had fills on those "reaches". If I get my price I'm obviously happy... I seldom do the woulda/coulda bit anymore... it took a while but I'm there.

Sleep my friend! The market needs your full and complete attention...

Regards,
SF

Lee--thanks for your thoughts. I'll give it a try--along with trailing stops so I can catch more of the wave!! Jim
