Hello Bob! So that's where you've been hanging out lately?

Well, as I just said to Stephen in a prior post. Communists have been historically atheistic, but that does not mean that all atheists are communist. However, they do seem to have a higher propensity to be drawn toward it. Take a look at the people in general who support grand government handout programs. And take a look at which group of people speak of people like Bill Gates as if they are vermen raping the planet. Predominantly, it is the left or the more socialistic/communistic entities of our society.

This of course is not the case entirely, we are all individuals. And differences occurs dramatically in each individual. Terrence would be a perfect example of this, as I'm sure many of your libertarian friends would be. But in the aggregate sense it does tend to be the case.

Not sure why Israel tends to fall toward socialistic way's. But I'll think on it.

Best, Michael

Bob, I agree with your argument here, but not with the example you have chosen to illustrate it. Israel is an odd bird: a secular state with an Orthodox religious establishment. And if I recall correctly, the kibbutzim were originated by secular Zionists, many of whom were socialists.

A better example might have been the Essenes...
