Interesting request from Mike Adams, editor of Y2KNEWSWIRE.COM
This was posted on csy2k this morning.
This is Mike Adams, editor of Y2KNEWSWIRE.COM. You may
already know we've interviewed dozens of industry "insiders" (in
both private and government organizations) who are now
speaking out about their front- line Y2K experiences. The true
stories are simply staggering, and not all have yet been
published on the Y2KNEWSWIRE.COM site. (i.e. there are
several interesting stories in the works right now...)

If you have inside information on Y2K, and you'd like to speak
out through an established Y2K information outlet that will
protect your identity, please contact me by e-mailing
'webmaster' at the domain y2knewswire.com

What is "inside information?" It is something you have learned
through personal experience that is not already public
knowledge. For example, reading a public news story is not
insider information. Hearing a Y2K story from your brother is
not inside information. But getting fired because you refused to
falsify Y2K compliance documents IS inside information. In
fact, we have evidence this has already happened at the United
States Postal Service.

To authenticate the source and content of this message, I am
posting this text on the Y2KNEWSWIRE.COM web site. Visit:
y2knewswire.com

Any message posted here that is not mirrored on the
Y2KNEWSWIRE.COM web site is not from my organization.

- Mike Adams

PS. Seems Mitch rat-cliffe is about the only writer Cheeky quotes these days.Perhaps the question is no longer if but how bad.

re: sewage mess, how many gallons?

This mirrors the general Y2K problem pretty well.

There is a mess coming. No one knows exactly how big it will be. Plus it will be difficult to gauge the size of the mess even after it has happened.

The LA test was really ironic. The sh*t really hit the fan on that one :-)

P.S.
FAA believes it has met Y2K deadline. I don't trust these guys. Have they finished testing? What exactly have they finished?

'German Federal Audit Office (BRH) warns of Y2K chaos at authorities (dpa/WELT AM SONNTAG/zeitbombe-jahr2000.de)
- The German Federal Audit Office urgently warns of the dramatic consequences, which federal and other authorities could suffer because of insufficient Y2K preparations. One dealt with oneself altogether in the authorities and Ministries too late with the computer problem, writes the " WORLD ON SUNDAY " (6-27-1999) with reference to an internal BRH report. It will come to billion-failures. A computer forecast on all entered federal authorities did not result in failure costs fewer than 40 million Marks per day. Especially the Federal Ministry of the Interior underestimated the range of the problem perfectly. The conversion phase would have had to be final already in the middle of 1998 (!). Y2K will have in addition, to incorrect or repeated pension payments and to false payment movements with public banks and will lead effects on crime prevention.

'TMI Alert Issues Precautionary Y2K Warning

Three Mile Island Alert is asking area residents to review local evacuation plans and preparedness procedures printed in the telephone book. In the event of a Y2K problem at Three Mile Island, you may need to evacuate your home and town. People should give forethought to what they will take with them.

We recognize that many will perceive our advisory as "fear mongering," but we have first-hand experience with the confusion and misinformation during a nuclear accident.

We post this advisory so that in the event of the worst case scenario described above, (we are not predicting that it will, ) residents will be saved from radioactive exposure and the loss of valuable keepsakes. We do believe that some nuclear plants will inevitably face Y2K challenges which will require accident mitigation actions by operators.

For more information contact TMI Alert or the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. '
