Where did you get the dollar figures? I guess $37.71 in 1Q99 is an annual figure. Otherwise, S&P is way undervalued.

Mike and Mike,

Do you have any idea why the IBES estimate and the First Call estimate for S&P500 earnings are so far apart on a consistent basis?

Are they using a different method of measuring operating earnings.

Ex. excluding bank reserves allocations, interest expenses, etc...
