I sent an email inquiry two days ago to Sprint asking about the ThinPhone. Reply was "Dear Mr. Moore:

Welcome to Sprint PCS. I will be happy to assist you with your question,
regarding
our telephone product line. We appreciate your interest in Sprint PCS.
At this time, we do not have any plans to add the Qualcomm QCP-1960 to
our telephone product line. However, this may change in the future."

Valuemam--In TN neither Cellular One (GTE) nor US Cellulal offer CDMA/AMPS phones by NOK or QCOM. They have a Startac at $200+. They offer the Sony (w/jog dial on side) and Sanyo. Dual mode is essential for much of the US. HAven't checked Sprint PCS offering which would be 1900MHZ CDMA only.

Is NOK 6185 tri-mode Amps + 800 & 1900CDMA?? Is this NOK's only CDMA/AMPS offering. Several posts have claimed that it drops calls switching from digital to AMPS.

V-man, all. My QCP 2700 just pulled a freak out: all the controls are 'frozen'. Can't make a call, turn it off, or do diddily. Point is I called Sprint PCS in Palo Alto, CA hoping to swap it for a Thin Phone. No luck, guy says 2 months and they ain't taking names, only 'first come first serve'. :-(
engineer, should I shove a tooth pick in some appropriate orifice to jump start this sick pup? SM
