Dennis:

You are right and you are wrong. There probably is strong fundamentals underlying the stock. The technicals just confirm it. Other than random movement there is really no such thing as a technical rally. MY experience has been that breakouts such as we have seen in MAN are driven by fundamentals, but they are not always apparant at the time of the signal. In fact the best signals tend to occur when the fundamentals are not at all obvious. Another great value to TA is that it can keep you out of trouble. I have previously mentioned UP a gas stock which I had taken a large (for me) position. The technicals were not confirming the perception of the fundamentals and this should have gotten me out of the stock. However, I was so convinced about the fundamentals that I stayed in to my great regret. The moral is that if the technicals are not confirming your view of the fundamentals get out.
Fortunately for MAN holders the action has been positive since the breakout which preceded the last statement. The next area to watch is the 9.00 area (canadian. If it blows through it with little trouble there is a good chance of a run away market.

At any rate while the sun is shining enjoy.

Live long and prosper,

Little joe
