Cheeky: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm beginning to get the feeling that you have a couple of concerns about the new site. <vvvbg> But seriously... First of all, I want everyone (especially you, Cheeky) to know that we have been very carefully reading and considering all of feedback that we've received so far (2 days into our new beta site). In addition to this thread and a couple of others that have commented heavily on the new SI, we've received almost 1000 responses via the beta site feedback mechanism. Perhaps needless to say, the SI team has been working their tails off stabilizing the back-end systems and fixing bugs. They have truly done a remarkable job. With respect to the sizing of the pages and messages, we have received similar requests from other besides Cheeky. Nobody has requested it quite as many *times* as Cheeky, but then there can only be one Cheeky. (Hope you're still smiling, Cheeky, and I think you will be by the end of this message.) Other members, however, have indicated that they actually prefer the stretchable screen because it allows them to get more of the post on the page, above the fold. Sooooooo, let me tell you what we're gonna do... We stole a few moments today for a pow-wow to discuss a number of feedback items that we've received so far. We came up with a proposed solution for the screen size that we think will make both sides of the coin happy. I don't want to give you the specifics now because there are still some details to consider and review, and I don't ever want to promise anything that we can't absolutely deliver. Besides, the engineers will kill me if I promise stuff that we haven't spec'ed out yet. However, the essence of what we're thinking is a customization option that would allow members to select a "stretchable" screen or a "fixed size" screen. (NOTE: The engineers will probably only bruise me for saying that much. *sigh*) We have also thought of some clever solutions for the "color scheme" debate, and we're in the process right now of prioritizing all of the other suggestions that we've received. It's going to be bug fixes and stabilization over the next few days, and then you'll start to see tweaks and enhancements to the beta site based on your feedback. It is my personal objective to continuously upgrade the site based on your input (all member's input, btw, not just Cheeky's <g>). In any case, I want everyone to know that we sincerely appreciate the input from Cheeky, August, V., Blue, CatLady and the rest of you who have thrown your 2 cents into the mix. Keep it comin'. We're listenin'. Thanks, Bryan
