David, I have a complaint about features that are MISSING from the Beta Site.

1) The "this subject only" button on the search box -- a new feature on the old SI -- is MISSING on the Beta site. Bummer. That was a great way to search back subjects/people on a particular thread.

2) And whatever happened to the numbers at the top of each thread -- 100 200 300 400 500 etc. -- which allowed you to click right into posts made several months, or several years, earlier? Now it looks as if you can only go back 40 posts at a time. You know how many hours that would take to retrieve, say, a July 1988 post on the Drillers' Thread?! Or did I miss something?

3) Does anyone responsible for working on the Beta site actually read this thread? Or is this just Vent City? How can I make sure that SI knows about these omissions (if they are omissions)? I did send some sort of message, but since it was not acknowledged, I don't know whether anyone actually read it, still less whether anyone took my comments into consideration.

4) I would like to go on record as one of those who do NOT like the new message format. All that text across the page has a really sloppy, amateur look to me.
