Chop this is wrong. U can use CASH equivalent of margin buying power to by IPOs legally. eTrade lets u do it. Logically this should be fine. i tried to argue this with a wit representative, but he deed not seem to understand very much the law regarding margin works.
You can even buy options in Cash margin equivalent. All brokers allow it.

Yes, I understand completely now!! I have not gone back to look at old posts...but did YOU say you moved shares into your Margin Bucket?

Or was that someone else?

If it was you: Why did you do so if you never buy securities on margin?

If it was NOT you: Then never mind...

Either way...appreciate the full clarity I have on this Margin/IPO issue now!
