Most, if not all, of what anybody has to say on these threads is opinion. From what I have read and seen photos of, she was a hippy type rabble rouser looking for an audience. He was an up and comer with Arkansas based influence. She hitched her wagon to someone with a modicum of clout and who she could mold into her kind of man. She didn't count on his sexual addiction. That's the way I see it and that is my opinion. Take it or leave it. I don't care which you do. TD

D-I-V-O-R-C-E. The obvious way to manage this problem "situation". She's supposed to be the most intelligent woman in the world and couldn't figure that out? JLA

That is very charitable of you, but not terribly plausible for a smart, resourceful, affluent woman who prides herself on her independence so much that she retains her maiden name until it is politically inexpedient, and who is not Roman Catholic. I agree that there was more to the relationship, but the idea that she was somehow stuck, and that it is unlikely that anyone could have managed better is a bit much...Moreover, there is at least reason to be uneasy with the way in which she has exploited her family connections. It is not true that she needed to ply "fixer" law in Little Rock, for example. She could have been a defense attorney. Even in corporate law, Memphis is only about an hour away, and in a different state. She has had something to hold over his head, and there is reason to think that she has used it on occasion, as when he agreed to the cockamamie health care task force....
