Why do you assume that the "key employees" are in sales and not in technical positions?

Thanks for your comments...I agree.

Furthermore, why is the company just talking about "key employees" and what exactly does that mean? Is Cadence just planning on rewarding management personnel...supervisory personnel? What about all the people that serve under those managers and supervisors?

If I start to sense that Cadence is using some 1960's or 1970's personnel model, I'll find it necessary to get out of the stock. There is no way you can build long-term success with outdated employment models. You simply cannot attract and retain quality people today unless there is a good working environment where employees are tied in to the success of the company.

This is not an insurmountable hurdle if:
1) The problem is recognized at the highest levels within the organization
2) Definitive steps are taken to build a culture that attracts the best
