Picked up the following on another thread (Good News, or is it?)...

Q.
...will p5a support amd K7 processors? thanks a lot in advance!

A#1.
No, K7 will require another type of processor socket. But Asus will be the first to build a K7 Board..

A#2.
No AMD will be the first to produce a board (which they currently have).

This will allow the processor out into the market quicker but only in small
quantities until the major manufactures starting producing boards.

Asus and Abit will probably follow later.

To take full advantage of the processor's speed the CPU requires RAMBUS
memory which will also have an impact on release schedules.

Dutch,

First positive post I've read since unclewest went on vacation.

Message 10375443

Are you trying to tell me this wasn't positive enough? Talk about hard to please. For us technical types this is about as euphoric as we get. <gg>

Regards,

Jim
