USA - Brazil

My friend, USA got away with murder today.

The two goals were two Christmas gifts: one, in the 4th minute, by the Brazilian goalie who let the ball slip out of her hands and served right onto the head of the only US player in the vicinity. The second Christmas gift was a ridiculous penalty gifted by the referee when the defender clearly got the ball and the star Mia Hamm tumbled to the ground having lost hope of keeping ball possession (reminded me some of the "fouls" called on Michael Jordan<g>).

Other than that, US played, to my surprise, a disapointing game. The Brazilians, to my surprise, played the best I have seen them play so far in this World Cup. The game was decided by the US goalie who had a superb game who silenced the Brazilian strikers in several occasions.

USA must raise their game if they expect to win in the final.

All 3 referees were pathetically pro US and the Brazilians have every right to be upset.

As you can tell I was torn by this game<g>

I did not get the score right but I got the goal difference...I think the next game will be much better and the final should be super!
