The timing is curious, though getting the story out there this early in the election cycle probably works to GW's advantage, particularly as there appears to be no smoking gun. We never did get the full story on Clinton until after the 1992 election.

Next come the oil patch and stadium stories. The American Spectator, which loathes any Republican to the left of Attila, did a hatchet job on these issues last month. The article didn't contain anything that I found disturbing. The main points seemed to be that people have lost a lot of money in the oil business over the past twenty years and that GW used his political influence to get a stadium constructed. Duh.

Service in the home National Guard was a joke and a wish for those without connections during that era. Flying sorties over Austin ain't service in my book Jack, when others were getting their heads blown off in Da Nang, or losing their legs to Claymores in swamps 10,000 miles from home.

We are talking honor here. As a registered REPUBLICAN, I expect more of the party than to nominate this yellow coward. Excuses for him, anyone??? Paste them on the War Memorial in D.C.--you can paste the words "at least he served in Amarillo" over the name of your favorite war corpse.
