You say you're a veteran: of what era? If you served during the Vietnam era, then you know the motives of those who went into the National Guard. It was no secret back then, we all talked about it: to keep from going to 'Nam. That's why Bush chose the National Guard, and that's why Quayle did as well.

I do not fault either of them, and I don't blame Clinton for what he did, either, which was not draft-dodging, legally or morally. Lots of young men did their opportunistic best to keep out of 'Nam. At least Clinton opposed the war that he avoided fighting; Quayle and Bush were simply hypocritical cowards who wanted others to do their fighting for them.

As for your comments about the mainstream media, let me point out that, for all its faults, it at least has a level of peer review that enforces, at least in the long run, some degree of responsibility. That's why the ridiculous story about the CIA flooding the black community with cocaine that the San Jose Mercury published eventually was discredited by other newspapers. The sources you cite are ignored by the mainstream reporters because they are not credible. My advice to you is to check your source, then check your source's source, then check the source of your source's source. I think if you did you'd find a lot of your sources are simply fraudulent.

I also suggest that you do a little studying on the meanings of socialism and liberalism. You throw those terms around like they are simple pejoratives rather than ideological traditions.
