For the right price, I will tell you how. ;-)
Seriously, PM me if you're interested to know how.

Thanks Frank. A number of ways to do it. Personally I keep a 300-400 stock data base and run a few scans a night with software. It offers me at least a vague familiarity with what I'm trading.

The price and volume scan turns up most of the breakouts though I don't scan specifically for them. I tend to show those results here because it provides an easy reference point i.e., everybody understands and appreciates a breakout.

Some scans are remarkable in their complexity and specificity...check the quotes plus and metastock threads on SI for really arcane results, pretty interesting really.

As far as scans on the net there are a couple of places...marked by the lateness of updates and sometimes the sites being down but I'll dig up those links if you like, they can be useful.

One other way intraday, is simply check the sites that provide major volume/price increase data as the day wears on...just check those against a chart and bingo...you can trade the breaks as they occur.
