Mary,

Message 10372617

Jim Dines was calling a number of Net stocks a buy long before anyone else did, and long before the Net stocks went through the roof.

He is VERY bullish on Internet, and Y2K, he said he sees no problem so far and is bullish in spite of Y2K, but that could change. He is calling for a summer rally and 95% of the Internet stocks in his port are a buy. His reasoning is very interesting. He has been writing his newsletter for over 30 years.

THE DINES LETTER, 19 Sep 97, page 2
>> "The Coming Internet Boom." America Online along with Yahoo might well emerge as the next Microsoft and Intel, in coming years. A way to make money in the stock market is to find an area with explosive growth and mind-boggling potential; then investing in it as early as possible. Never in all our years have we seen greater growth potential for a five or ten-year investment than the Internet. America Online is the gatekeeper to cyberspace, controlling the proverbial location-location-location. We recommended America Online at 5.56 and it has risen 81% to 10.06, and Yahoo at 5.43 which has risen 167% to 14.50, in only a short period of time.<<

News Maker Interview on StockHouse.com, online financial news and information resource for investors 8 April 1999
>>"Dines was one of the few early birds to recommend America Online, Amazon.com, CMGI and At Home. Dines has been on the mark in many of his Internet forecasts and recommended stocks." <<

Thom Calandra, Editor-in-Chief of CBS MarketWatch, 23 March 1999
>>"The Original Internet Bug's model portfolio of net stocks is booming. Dines' record for Internet stocks has been good." <<

Happy 4th Of July!

Hope you enjoy Paul Allen's favorite music. Most of these links seem to have something to do with GNET, whether GNET is mentioned or not, IMHO.
Cheers,
Joana
ps. Mary, as far as your question about predicting y2k effect, I wouldn't begin to guess if it'll stay flat, plummet from fear, or be The Mother Of All Contrarian/Santa Claus Rallies. Who knows? Quoting the words of a song being performed live here and there now (from "Brandy Duval" by Keith Caputo formerly of "Life Of Agony", new CD scheduled for 1/2000 release)... "It's The Turn Of The Century, & Anything Goes"
